A reminder to NHS members – before the football game there are winter wonderland volunteer opportunities at Wildwood Park.  This is an excellent way to accumulate group hours.

 

Students from Mrs. Reigel's and Ms. Chase's classes are to pick up your food containers today.

TODAYThere will be a Mock Trial meeting after school in Room 10 and 11. 

 

The pre-season boy's basketball meeting for freshmen will be held in room 55 after school at 3:10

 

The sign-up meeting for all girls interested in playing Hockey is at 3:15 pm in the study hall.

 

Rehearsal for Earnest will be at 7:00 PM in room 10-11 for the full cast.  Stage crew will work on stage at 5:00 today.

 

NEXT WEEK - There will be a NHS meeting next Monday after school in the study hall.  Remember to bring a non-perishable food item.  If you have any questions, see Michelle Cancel.

 

The next FBLA meeting will be Tuesday, November 4 after school in Room 71.

NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Play tickets will go on sale starting tomorrow.  Tickets are reserved seating for $8.00 each.  The play is The Importance of Being Earnest which will be performed Nov. 8th & 9th at 7:30 PM.

 

All students riding tonight's spectator bus, please be ready by 3:45 pm.  Buses will leave from the high school bus parking lot at 4:00 pm sharp.  You must ride the bus you are assigned to the game and back home after the game.  Make arrangements to be picked up promptly once the bus returns.

 

The following students will be representing Marshfield High School this week as members of the State Honors Bands and Orchestras:  Laura Lake, Seth Berger, Kara Facizewski, Noreen Rashid, Hanna Gilbert, Emily Wolfe, Michael Josephson, Teddy Schenkman, and Hanna Hargis.  These students auditioned and were selected as 9 of the top musicians in the state and will be performing in concerts on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  Also representing Marshfield is Tim Carroll, who was recognized as an exemplary soloist at the State Solo and Ensemble Festival last May.  Tim was then selected to be one of 10 student soloists to perform in a concert at the State Music Convention this weekend.  Congratulations and good luck to all the musicians, performing in Madison this week.

SPORTS RESULTS FROM THE WEEKEND:
The Girls Cross Country Team has qualified for the W.I.A.A. Team State Championships for the 4th year in a row. They will race at 2:30 pm on Saturday, November 1st, at the Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.
The Boys Soccer Team won their regional match against Wausau West on Saturday, 1-0. They will now host Rhinelander in Sectional semi-finals at 3:30 pm, on Thursday, October 30th, at Griese Park.

There will be a spectator bus for the Tuesday's nights football game in La Crosse. Cost is $5.00 per person. Please sign-up in the office. Departure time will be Tuesday at 4:00 pm from the circle drive. Students may sign up until noon tomorrow.

FALL FESTIVAL CONCERT TONIGHT: THE MARSHFIELD HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR AND ORCHESTRA WILL PRESENT A CONCERT TONIGHT AT 7:30 IN THE HIGH SCHOOL AUDITORIUM. ADMISSION IS FREE.

The following students have won the cash drawing award for the science department fundraiser - $10 - Lisa Kaiser, $10 - Shelley Gabel, $10 - Brittany Niles, $20 - Melissa Hoeser, and the grand prize of $50 - Luke Schwantes.  All winners must present an ID and a note from their science teacher testifying to the fact that they have turned in their fundraising money to Mr. Hartwig in Room 21.

There are a few openings left to register for Xtreme Xploration on November 5th.  Students will depart from MHS at 8:30 AM with arrival at the UW Marshfield Wood County Campus where they will be divided into groups of 25.  Each group will tour Mid-State Technical College and UW Marshfield, listen to a presentation about "Workplace Ethics", and speak with professional from 16 career pathways at the Career Fair.  This event is free and there is a chance to win a Nintendo Wii.  Students will return to MHS by 1:30 PM.  Permission forms are due to Mrs. Wagner in the main office no later than October 27th.

 

OLD NEWS - Join the nation on Saturday, October 25 in a special day to Make a Difference! Participate in the 7th annual Marshfield Area Make A Difference Day celebration. Come together to rake leaves for those who are unable to do so themselves.  You can make a connection with family, friends, co-workers and neighbors you serve.  Volunteers will gather at the Marshfield Senior Center, 111 S. Marshfield Girls swimming lost to Wausau East (number 1 in the conference) Tuesday evening at Marshfield Senior High Pool.

 

Attention Spanish Honor Society – your cooking day has been postponed to November 10.

 

Any boys planning on or interested in playing hockey, please sign up in the office by the end of the week.

 

There are a few openings left to register for Xtreme Xploration on November 5th.  Students will depart from MHS at 8:30 AM with arrival at the UW Marshfield Wood County Campus where they will be divided into groups of 25.  Each group will tour Mid-State Technical College and UW Marshfield, listen to a presentation about "Workplace Ethics", and speak with professional from 16 career pathways at the Career Fair.  This event is free and there is a chance to win a Nintendo Wii.  Students will return to MHS by 1:30 PM.  Permission forms are due to Mrs. Wagner in the main office no later than October 27th.
