The mock trial scrimmage will be on Wednesday at the courthouse annex.  We will conduct 2 scrimmages simultaneously to allow everyone to be done for the band concert.  We are working on a scrimmage for Sunday to be finished by Super bowl kickoff. We will likely be spending Friday night before 8th in Rhinelander.

 

Last evening 10 students from MHS participated in the regional speaking competition hosted by the American Association of German teachers in LaCrosse.  Placing 1^st overall in level 1 was Brenda Foemmel.  Placing 1^st and 2^nd overall in level 2 were Erin Bryan and Amy Voight.  Placing 1^st and 2^nd overall in level 3 were Elisa Prebble and Amelia Kolts and placing 2^nd and 3^rd overall were Danielle Olson and Krysten Beeman in level 4/5.  Brenda, Erin, Amy, Elisa, Amelia and Danielle will be headed to the state competition at Marquette University in March. Congratulations.

 

Science Olympiad will meet tomorrow after school.  See Mrs. Dopp if you cannot attend.

 

Attention Mrs. Lau's period 9 AP Spanish class - be sure to check in with Mrs. Lau before leaving today.

 

All high school athletic contests and practices are canceled today.  Make-up dates have not been determined yet.

 

The Youth Net Center will be closed tonight.

 

Attention potential MHS baseball players - we will be conducting our pre-season baseball meeting after school on Thursday from 3:30 - 3:45 and if you cannot make it Thursday after school we will have another meeting before school on Friday from 7:10-7:45 AM in Coach Zee's room, room 80.  If you are interested in playing baseball this spring make sure you attend one of the meetings.  See Coach Zee with any questions.

 

Boys swim team please pick up your picture order forms in the main office before you leave today.

 

AP Chemistry students pick up your homework in room 9 on your way out of the building.

 

There will be a Spanish Honor Society meeting Wednesday after school in room 63 for all members.

 

Wausau East boys and girls basketball games vs. Marshfield have been rescheduled as listed here:  Marshfield boys at East on Sat. Feb. 2nd, JV-5:45, Varsity at 7:30, freshman is still a work in progress.  Girls at Marshfield on Tues. Feb. 19th, JV-5:45, Varsity at 7:30, should the Marshfield boys host a 1st round regional boys game on the 19th, the girls would then play on Mon. the 18th.   Frosh games tied to this match are cancelled.  Boy's hockey at Marshfield has not been confirmed yet.
